Put the experienced and highly qualified Benefits Plus Consulting Team to work for you
Founder and CEO
Norma Romero-Mitchell, Founder & CEO of Benefits Plus Consulting, has made it her mission to empower women and minority entrepreneurs and professionals to help create secure futures for themselves and their families through effective resource and financial management.
A native New Yorker and Cornell graduate, Norma left successful careers on Wall Street and executive positions in the insurance industry to found Benefits Plus Consulting in 1993. She has helped to grow the company continuously for over two decades by developing strategic business solutions through the integration of highly specialized teams comprised of senior level consulting talent and advisors experienced at exceeding client expectations.
Norma's expertise in the areas of financial planning, employee benefits consulting and investment management attracts clients of all sizes and industries. She has over two decades of experience in leading the strategic direction, design and renewal evaluation of a broad spectrum of insurance and retirement benefit plans.
In addition, Norma has been responsible for the oversight of plan roll out and communication strategies aimed at increasing employee participation, retention and satisfaction. Her special focus on the unique needs of diverse active and retiree populations was born from the lack of access to qualified professionals that she witnessed in her own community.
In operating her business, Norma maintains high standards for excellence and personalized service to clients. She is also the proud recipient of the Chairman's and Leadership Awards for the Minority Supplier Development Council of PA-NJ-DE (2010), Pennsylvania's Best 50 Women in Business (2007) and Women of Distinction Award (2007).
Norma's extensive volunteer work gives ample evidence of pride in her Latina roots and commitment to “giving back” to the community. She serves as an Advisory Board Member of Educating Young Minds, a Los Angeles based non-profit serving inner city youth and as a board member of Philadelphia Works, Inc., a non-profit focused on work readiness and economic empowerment.
